Detach is designed to collect as little data as possible.
We want to be explicit about this:
All personal content you create in Detach (journal entries, vault information, safety plans, no-contact tracker data, urge logs, and settings) is stored locally on your device using secure storage. This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to delete the app, in which case it is permanently removed.
Detach uses Google Firebase for limited backend infrastructure. At this time, no personal user data is written to or stored in Firebase. If this changes in the future, this privacy policy will be updated to reflect exactly what data is stored and why.
Detach uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat may receive anonymous transaction data from Apple or Google to verify your purchase. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or any personal content from the app. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Detach links to external resources (YouTube videos, articles from trusted sources) within the Learn section. When you tap these links, you leave the Detach app and are subject to the privacy policies of those external websites. We encourage you to review their policies.
Detach includes an emergency exit feature on every screen. Tapping "EXIT APP" immediately opens weather.com in your browser. This action does not send any data to us or any third party. It is a safety feature designed to protect you.
Detach is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us and we will address your concern.
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the Detach app. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered by us or anyone else. There is no cloud backup.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Detach is a mobile application published by 2673274 Ontario Inc., operating as Valkyrie, a corporation incorporated in the Province of Ontario, Canada. Detach provides educational content, self-reflection tools, and personal safety planning resources for individuals experiencing or recovering from narcissistic abuse.
Detach is a self-help and educational tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, or crisis intervention services. The content provided in the app (including quizzes, dictionary terms, articles, videos, and guided prompts) is for informational and self-reflection purposes only.
If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services (911 in North America) or a domestic violence hotline.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or contact a crisis helpline in your area.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Detach. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Detach does not require you to create an account. All data you enter (journal entries, vault information, plans, settings, and preferences) is stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for maintaining access to your device and your PIN.
If you delete the app, all data stored within it will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered. We do not maintain backups of your personal content.
Detach is available for a one-time purchase of $0.99 CAD (or equivalent in your local currency) through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies.
We do not offer subscriptions, recurring charges, or in-app purchases beyond the initial app purchase.
All content within Detach, including but not limited to text, design, graphics, logos, button icons, and the selection and arrangement of content, is the property of 2673274 Ontario Inc. (o/a Valkyrie) and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content in the app without prior written permission.
Detach includes links to third-party resources, including YouTube videos and articles from external websites. These resources are provided for educational purposes. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.
Detach includes an emergency exit feature that opens weather.com when tapped. This feature is provided as a personal safety tool. We make no guarantees about the availability or functionality of weather.com or any external website opened through this feature.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, 2673274 Ontario Inc. (o/a Valkyrie), its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Detach.
Detach is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 2673274 Ontario Inc. (o/a Valkyrie) from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app or your violation of these terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
